Just Health Coaching with Joey - Somatic & Body-based Coaching
What is the somatic & body-based approach?
Giving the body permission to express & release emotions such as pain, discomfort, shame, anger, guilt & grief in a safe & gentle way by using compassionate inquiry & guidance.
How does it work?
In order to heal, we need to feel our emotions & feelings that are stored in our bodies. More standard talk-therapy often neglects the feeling part by trying to understand or analyze the client's story telling about their past. With my approach, rather than talking about the issue, I allow the body & the pains that are trapped in the body from past attachment injuries or trauma's that were too painful to process, to move up & out of the body by feeling these. This does not mean that we need to revisit or relive every single traumatic event that my client has experienced. Simply giving the client the power to feel safe in their bodies by learning to feel their emotions over time in a gentle way is a huge catalyst for the client to live a completely different life.

"I always started my goals without ever finishing them; with Joey at my side directing me and believing in me, I finally managed to achieve these goals. Success builds success and I have not looked back since. - Finding balance in my life had been something I was very unaware off. Helping me find a balance in my life provided me with the environment I needed to achieve, excel and find the 'joy' in the process of achieving these goals. I enjoyed the sometimes painful process of growth so much more and this made me want to get up in the morning and excel at it."

Hello, I'm Joey.
Although I am a certified Health Coach and Wellness Entrepreneur I would like to introduce myself with the following words instead.
Life is long, life is beautiful, but it is hard at the same time. We go to school, we grow up along the way, before we can comprehend that we are adults, our childhood has passed and we are doing grown up things and trying to understand where we are heading and perhaps still where we came from. Before we know it we are 30 and many of the basic life skills have gotten lost along the way. We get distracted, we get overwhelmed by our behaviours and our patterns, but life is too busy to work on our triggers, and perhaps we don't want to acknowledge that we really want to work on them, or that we should and no matter how many times we research health or weight-loss, happiness or confidence, relationships or freedom, we can't seem to find that thing that will really make us change.
That's were I come in.. my first hand experience at figuring out how to go through the process of change, and my education as a professional Health Coach provides me with tools & resources to be your guide, while you do the work and commit to finally changing your lifestyle, your perspective and your life.
